About - marchingquakerband

I am a 1982 graduate of the Marching Quaker Band program and served as the band's Field Commander/Drum Major for 2.5 years. While serving as the Drum Major and drill instructor for my college marching band, I began adjudicating OMEA sanctioned marching band contests throughout Ohio.

When I returned to New Philadelphia High School as a teacher in 1993, I joined the MQB staff as an assistant marching band director under then director Cheryl Graham until her retirement as head band director. I currently teach in the high school language arts department at New Philadelphia.

When Jeff Furbay (1985 MQB grad) became the marching band director in 2005, I took on the responsibility of maintaining the band's website for Mr. Furbay. That is also when I began documenting the band's competitive aspirations through photos.

I soon discovered that I needed a place online to house my growing collection of digital pics so that band members, friends, and family might also enjoy them. That brought me to SmugMug.

If you like any of the photos, please purchase them. SmugMug does a wonderful job of developing and sending photos and products to my customers.

I keep the costs low and the money that is made from the sale of photos is returned to the cost of maintaining this online site.

Thank you for your support.
